Rueck previously won the Genesis Collegiate Showcase at Torrey Pines while also claiming victory at the Loyola Intercollegiate. This marks his 10th top-10 finish and fourth win of his career.
Pacing the Vandals by seven strokes, Boise State, collectively, fired an 844 (-8). Entering Day 2 with a two-shot lead, the Broncos had their best round of golf on Day 2.
Led by Luke Cushman and Ryan Meyer, who posted a 67 and 69, respectively, Boise State was 7-under in the final 18 holes. Five Broncos, including two individuals, shot under par, with 73 (+2) representing the team’s highest score in Round 3.
In total, four Broncos completed the 54-hole event with scores above par. Behind Rueck was Cushman, Ryan Meyer and Seth Jones (Individual), who finished 1-under and tied for third.
Fresh off Mountain West Golfer of the Week honors, Cushman collected the fifth top-10 finish of his career, including four this season. Meyer’s 212 was his third-lowest score in a tournament in his career.
With the regular season in the rearview mirror, Boise State turns its attention to the Mountain West Championships. The Broncos will compete in the three-day tournament from April 25-27 at Emerald Valley Golf Course in Creswell, Ore.
