COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State sophomore Luke Cushman has been named the Mountain West Men’s Golfer of the Week, while teammate Reese Knox is the MW Men’s Golf Freshman of the Week.

The MW honors are the first for both Cushman and Knox.

GOLFER OF THE WEEK
LUKE CUSHMAN, BOISE STATE
Sophomore, Castle Rock, Colorado/Castle View HS

  • Won the UC Santa Barbara Gaucho Invitational at Sandpiper Golf Club in Goleta, California.
  • Shot a career-low 9-under-par 207 for his first career victory, shaving two strokes off his previous best 54-hole total.
  • Sandwiched rounds of 2-under 70 around a 5-under 67.
  • Posted his fourth career top-25 finish and third career top-10 finish.
  • Led the Broncos to their first team title of the season, with a decisive 21-stroke margin of victory.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
REESE KNOX, BOISE STATE
Peyton, Colorado/Falcon HS

  • Tied for 10th at the UC Santa Barbara Gaucho Invitational at Sandpiper Golf Club in Goleta, California.
  • Shot a career-low 1-under 215, highlighted by a 3-under 69 in the first round and a 1-under 71 in the second round.
  • Notched a combined six birdies and an eagle in his opening 36 holes.
  • Collected the first top-25 and top-10 finishes of his career.
  • Helped Boise State to a team total of 23-under 841 to easily outdistance the rest of the 11-team field.
