COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – UNLV sophomore Zach Little has been named the Mountain West Men’s Golfer of the Week and San Diego State’s Harry Takis is the MW Freshman of the Week.

The weekly honors are the first for both Little and Takis.

GOLFER OF THE WEEK
ZACH LITTLE, UNLV
Sophomore, Croxley Green, England

  • Tied for first at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate on the Ocean Course Hokuala in Lihue, Hawai‘i. Saw his national ranking jump from No. 98 to No. 25 after the win.
  • Topped a field of 102 golfers that included 19 players ranked inside the top 150 nationally.
  • Carded an 11-under-par 199 to claim his first collegiate victory.
  • Shot a bogey-free 7-under 63 in the second round to set a par-70 course record and match UNLV’s second-lowest round in program history. Added a 5-under 65 in the third round.
  • Helped the Rebels to a share of the team title at 22-under 818 in a 17-team field that featured seven top-50 squads.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
HARRY TAKIS, SAN DIEGO STATE
Brisbane, Australia/Kelvin Grove State College (HS)

  • Tied for 14th at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate, the highest finish for a MW freshman in the field.
  • Turned in a career-low 3-under-par 207, highlighted by a 1-under 69 in round two and a 3-under 67 in round three that matched his career-best round.
  • His 14th-place finish tied his career-best showing.
  • Helped San Diego State to a tie for fifth in the loaded field.
