SAN DIEGO – For the second-straight year, Cole Rueck won the Genesis Collegiate Showcase.

A Boise State junior, Rueck carded a 3-under 69 at legendary Torrey Pines, a two-time host to the U.S. Open, Monday.

With the victory, he earned an invitation to the Barracuda Championship, a PGA Tour and European Tour event, taking place July 14-20, 2025 at Tahoe Mountain Club in Truckee, California.

“Massive congratulations to Cole for defending his championship,” Boise State Men’s Golf Head Coach David Trainor said. “Cole basically played a flawless round of golf around an absolute monster of a golf course.”

In going back-to-back, Rueck became the first player to win the event twice. Boise State joined Wake Forest as the only schools with two titles. The Mountain West is the only conference to produce three championships. Gavyn Knight, also a junior at Boise State, was fifth with a 3-over 75.

“Gavyn competed great,” Trainor said. “He played well, with the exception of two holes.”

The Broncos will open their 2025 spring team season, Feb. 16-18 at the Loyola Collegiate in Goodyear, Arizona.
