ERIE, Colo. – The Colorado State men’s golf program stayed on the Front Range this week and came up big again. The Rams won the Mark Simpson Invitational at Colorado National Golf Course with a 36-under (282-276-270—828) score, including inking a 30-under par over the final two rounds to take the top spot. CSU’s 36-under par is the fourth lowest finish versus par in program history.
This is the first time Colorado State has won the Mark Simpson Invitational and the Rams 828 final tally is tied for the second lowest score of the 14th annual tournament.
Both Ralf Kivi and Christoph Bleier led CSU signing cards of 10-under for fifth place after both moving up 13 and 48 spots in the final round, respectively. Jake Rodgers and Matthew Wilkinson also finished in the top 20 with Wilkinson jumping 45 spots on the leaderboard in the final 18 holes.
After the first 36 holes, the Rams were sitting at 18-under par and fourth place. In the final day on Tuesday, Colorado State made its push, scoring an 18-under 270 to sign as the tournament leader. The 18-under mark is the sixth lowest team under-par round in program history.

Colorado State will leave the state of Colorado for the first time Oct. 14-15 for the Qubein Cup hosted by High Point at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.
