STANFORD, Calif. – Nevada men’s golfer Enrique Dimayuga completed the first round of the NCAA Stanford Regional tied for 19th overall in the field of 75 players after carding an impressive score of 68 (-2) to open the event.
Dimayuga was exceptional throughout the day, and the senior sits just one stroke back from the top-10 on the individual leaderboard with 36 holes remaining.
Beginning his round one hole one, Dimayuga opened the day in strong fashion, earning a birdie on the par-5 first hole. He proceeded to tally four consecutive pars before picking up a bogey on the sixth hole. Dimayuga bounced back from his first bogey in a tremendous way, as he recorded two birdies and a par to complete the front nine two shots below par. Dimayuga went on to tally seven pars, one bogey, and one birdie on the back nine, finishing the day with a score of 68 (-2).
Dimayuga is three strokes back from the top individual competitor after the first day of play, as he will have work to do throughout the second round.
Dimayuga will be back at it Tuesday morning for the second round, as he is scheduled to tee off at 10:53 a.m.
