RENO, Nev. — No. 3 seed Nevada (39-18) secured a thrilling 14-10 victory over nationally ranked and top-seeded Grand Canyon, cementing their spot in the championship game of the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Softball Championship played at Christina M. Hixson Softball Park in Reno.

Saturday will represent Nevada’s first appearance in the MW tournament title game.

The Wolf Pack’s offense has been firing on all cylinders through three games at the championship and that didn’t stop on Friday as they racked up 14 runs on 14 hits. Nevada now owns the MW tournament record for runs (37), hits (46) and RBIs (34).

The Pack trailed 6-4 after two innings but scored eight runs between the third and fourth frames to open up a commanding lead. At the plate, they were led by Hannah Di Genova, who had a game high three hits, including a home run, and two RBIs. Talia Trettontied for a game high with four RBIs, including a three-run home run to deep left centerfield. Hailey McLean picked up her 11th win on the season, pitching 5.2 innings and striking out 13 batters.

GCU hit four home runs on the afternoon, the most all-time in a MW tournament contest. The Lopes were led by Alina Satcher, who hit a grand slam in the second inning and Emily Gonzalez, who was the only GCU player with multiple hits on the day.

Grand Canyon will play later this evening against the winner of No. 4 New Mexico and No. 2 UNLV, while Nevada will await the winner in Saturday’s championship game at Noon PT.
