RENO, Nevada – The Mountain West announced its 2026 All-MW softball teams and individual honors as selected by the league’s 10 head coaches ahead of the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Softball Championship.

Nevada senior  Hannah Di Genova was selected as the Mountain West Player of the Year, while UNLV freshman Lauren Fettic was named MW Pitcher of the Year. Grand Canyon senior Sydney McCray was voted the MW Defensive Player of the year, while Nevada’s Katelyn Wettelandwas tabbed the MW Freshman of the Year. GCU head coach Shanon Hays was picked as the MW Coach of the Year.

Di Genova is the third consecutive player from Nevada to be named MW Player of the Year and third overall. The senior batted .439 with 36 hits, including 14 home runs and 48 RBIs in 25 Conference starts. She also recorded 30 runs and 10 walks.

Fettic is the third Rebel and first since 2007 to be named the MW Pitcher of the Year. The freshman recorded a 9-3 mark with three saves in the circle in league action. She posted a 2.91 ERA in 13 starts and 20 appearances. She posted five complete games, while striking out 51 batters.


McCray becomes the first Lope to be selected as the MW Defensive Player of the Year. The senior started 25 games in the outfield for GCU, recording a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. She registered 49 putouts and an assist. Additionally, McCray hit .405 with 34 hits, 25 runs scored and eight RBIs.

Wetteland is the second Nevada player in program history to be named MW Freshman of the Year and first since 2022. The rookie posted a .361 batting average in 25 MW games. She recorded 30 hits, including 11 for extra bases, and 24 runs scored. Wetteland drove in 24 runs and registered 13 walks.

In his first season in the Mountain West, Hays was tabbed the MW Coach of the Year. He led the Lopes to the program’s first MW regular-season title with a 21-4 mark. Hays and the Lopes enter the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Softball Championship as the No. 1 seed.
