COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State’s Rylee Bocchini was selected as the Mountain West Softball Player of the Week. New Mexico’s McKenna Guest was tabbed the MW Pitcher of the Week while fellow Lobo Caitlin Benningfield collected the MW Freshman of the Week nod.


PLAYER OF THE WEEK
RYLEE BOCCHINI, FRESNO STATE
Sophomore, Catcher, Madera, California/Liberty HS

  • Led the Bulldogs to a 3-0 series sweep over San José State.
  • Logged a .600 batting average, .636 on-base percentage and slugged at a 1.100 clip across the three games.
  • While at the plate, collected four runs, six hits and drove in five RBIs.
  • Defensively, tallied 14 putouts and one assist.


PITCHER OF THE WEEK
MCKENNA GUEST, NEW MEXICO
Junior, Pattonville, Texas/Prairiland HS

  • Notched two wins in the circle for the Lobos on the weekend.
  • Registered a 1.31 ERA across 10.2 innings.
  • Only allowed two earned runs off five hits and struck out four batters.


FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
CAITLIN BENNINGFIELD, NEW MEXICO
 Freshman, Utility, Round Rock, Texas/Cedar Ridge HS

  • Helped UNM to a 3-0 series sweep over Boise State.
  • Recorded a 0.78 ERA across nine innings of play and logged 12 strikeouts.
  • Opened the series with a full game in the circle where she only allowed one earned run and 10 strikeouts.
  • Closed the series with two innings in the circle allowing only three hits and one run.
  • At the plate, tallied a batting average of .167 on six at-bats with one hit and one RBI.
