COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Nevada senior Hannah Di Genova was tabbed the Mountain West Softball Player of the Week. Fresno State’s Lauryn Carranco was named the MW Pitcher of the Week and Colorado State’s Madi Eslinger collected the Freshman of the Week nod.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
HANNAH DI GENOVA, NEVADA
Senior, INF/3B, Woodland Hills, California/El Camino Real Charter HS
- Led the Wolf Pack to a 5-0 week.
- Hit .500 across the weekend with five runs on seven hits, including one triple and two home runs.
- Logged an on-base percentage of .588 and a slugging percentage of 1.071.
- Drove in six runs, including three RBIs coming in Saturday’s UC Davis matchup.
- Recorded two stolen bases on as many attempts.
- Defensively, tallied 21 putouts and three assists.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
LAURYN CARRANCO, FRESNO STATE
Senior, Clovis, California/CSU Northridge
- Went 2-0 at the Libby Matson Tournament with victories over UC San Diego and Pacific.
- She threw her first career no-hitter against UC San Diego and a complete game shutout against Pacific.
- Registered a 0.00 ERA with 16 strikeouts and allowing only three hits across 14 innings in the circle for the Bulldogs.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
MADI ESLINGER, COLORADO STATE
Redshirt Freshman, DP/2B, Fort Collins, Colorado/Loveland HS
- Guided the Rams to a 4-0 weekend, where the rookie hit .636 (7-for-11) across 11 at-bats.
- Tallied a .636 on-base percentage and a slugged for 1.091 with 12 total bases.
- Logged two runs on seven hits, including two doubles and one home run while driving in six runs.
