COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State senior Cole Rueck was tabbed the Mountain West Men’s Golfer of the Week, while Wyoming’s Brody Knowlton collected the MW Men’s Freshman of the Week nod. On the women’s side, Grand Canyon’s Alexis Vakasiuola picked up the MW Women’s Golfer and Freshman of the Week honors for the second consecutive week.

MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
COLE RUECK, BOISE STATE
Senior, Corvallis, Oregon/Corvallis HS

  • Led the Broncos to a first-place team finish at the Lake Las Vegas Invitational while also securing the individual champion title in a field of 67 competitors.
  • Shot a -16 with a total score of 200.
  • Posted personal-best low round of 64 and an average of 66.7 across the three rounds.


MEN’S FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
BRODY KNOWLTON, WYOMING
Montgomery, Texas/Lake Creek HS

  • Finished 13th in a field of 124 golfers at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate in Palm Desert, California, where he led the Cowboys across all three rounds.
  • Shot a 211, five-under par.
  • Opened the event with a 67 (-5), matching his career low.
  • Helped Wyoming finish in the top third of the 23 programs.
     

WOMEN’S GOLFER & FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
ALEXIS VAKASIUOLA, GRAND CANYON
Freshman, San Tan Valley, Arizona/Combs HS

  • Led her team to a first-place finish while also finishing first as an individual in a field of 33 golfers at the GCU Invitational.
  • Shot a -11, 205 total across the 54 holes, the second lowest in program history.
  • Registered 16 birdies and two eagles across the three rounds.
