Original post (May 6):
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fifteen former Mountain West football players have signed undrafted rookie free agent deals with NFL teams.
Fresno State leads the way with four signing UDFA deals in safety Dean Clark (New York Jets), wide receiver Mac Dalena (Kansas City Chiefs), offensive lineman Braylen Nelson (New York Giants) and linebacker Tuasivi Nomura (Carolina Panthers).
Boise State, Colorado State, San José State and UNLV had two each, while Nevada, New Mexico and Utah State had one apiece. A total of eight of the 12 MW institutions had at least one player sign a UDFA deal.
The Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams signed two former MW players each.
UNLV linebacker Jackson Woodard signed a free agent deal with Seattle, where he will join former Rebel teammate Ricky White III, who was drafted by the Seahawks in the seventh round last month. Former Colorado State wide receiver Tory Horton was also drafted by Seattle, in the fifth round.
Three former MW wide receivers will head to Kansas City, as free-agents Dalena and San José State’s Justin Lockhart will join Utah State’s Jalen Royals, who was drafted by the Chiefs in the fourth round.
Six former Mountain West players were drafted into the NFL in April, led by Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty, who was taken with the sixth overall pick by the Las Vegas Raiders.
