COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Six Mountain West players were selected in the 2025 NFL Draft, led by first-round pick Ashton Jeanty of Boise State. It was the most selections for the league since 2022.

Jeanty was the sixth overall pick by the Las Vegas Raiders, making him the second-highest selection in Mountain West history. Only former Utah quarterback Alex Smith, the No. 1 overall pick by San Francisco in 2005, was chosen higher. Jeanty was the highest MW pick since former Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen was taken seventh by the Buffalo Bills in 2018 and the highest running back selected since Penn State’s Saquon Barkley was picked second overall by the New York Giants in 2018.

The MW has now produced 12 first-round picks in its history, including five inside the top 10. This year’s sextet push the league’s overall total to 251 NFL draftees.

Jeanty was one of two Broncos selected in 2025, as defensive end Ahmed Hassanein went to the Detroit Lions in the sixth round with the 196th overall pick. Hassanein is the first Egyptian player drafted into the NFL. This marks the ninth time in the 14 years that Boise State has been a member of the Mountain West that it has produced multiple draft picks.

Three MW wide receivers were picked Saturday, with Utah State’s Jalen Royals first off the board to the Kansas City Chiefs in the fourth round (133rd overall pick). Colorado State’s Tory Horton and UNLV’s Ricky White III were both taken by Seattle. Horton was the 166th overall pick in the fifth round, while White went in the seventh round with the 238th overall pick.

Royals became the first Aggie selected in the draft since quarterback Jordan Love was taken in the first round by the Green Bay Packers with the 26th overall pick in 2020. Horton’s selection gave CSU an NFL Draft pick in consecutive years, while White’s made him the Rebels’ first draftee since 2010.

It marked the fifth time in MW history that at least three wide receivers had been selected in the same NFL Draft and the first time since 2019.

Nevada safety Kitan Crawford was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the seventh round with the 225th overall pick. He was the Wolf Pack’s first selection since wide receiver Romeo Doubs was taken by Green Bay in the fourth round in 2022.
