COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Nevada’s Aaliyah Jenkins was named the Mountain West Softball Player of the Week, while Fresno State’s Serayah Neiss was tabbed the MW Softball Pitcher of the Week. The MW Softball Freshman of the Week nod was awarded to San Diego State’s Quinn Waiki.
This is the fourth weekly honor for Jenkins, second for Neiss and first for Waiki during the 2025 season.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
AALIYAH JENKINS, NEVADA
Senior, C/UTL, Tracy, California/Tracy HS
- Led the Wolf Pack to a series win (2-1) over Utah State in a battle for first place in Conference play and clinched a spot in the Mountain West Credit Union 1 Softball Championship.
- The senior logged a .778 batting average, a .846 on-base percentage and a slugging percentage of 1.333.
- On nine at-bats, tallied nine runs, four RBIs and seven hits, including one home run and two doubles.
- The catcher/utility player stole four bases for the Blue and Silver.
- Defensively, logged nine putouts.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
SERAYAH NEISS, FRESNO STATE
Junior, Newberg, Oregon/Newberg HS
- Made appearances in all three games and helped the Bulldogs to a home series sweep over New Mexico as Fresno State clinched a spot in the MW CU1 Softball Championship.
- Logged a 1.91 ERA in 14.1 innings in the circle.
- Allowed only three runs, all earned, and struck out 19 batters.
- The junior did not give up a single triple or home run during the series.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
QUINN WAIKI, SAN DIEGO STATE
INF, Hilo, Hawai’i/James Campbell HS
- Helped the Aztecs to a 2-1 series win over Boise State and clinched a spot in the MW CU1 Softball Championship.
- Started all three games at short stop, defensively logged nine putouts and eight assists.
- On eight at-bats, notched four runs, three hits, including two home runs, and four RBIs.
- Recorded a batting average of .375, an on-base percentage of .444 and slugged at 1.125.
