COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Nevada senior Aaliyah Jenkins was named the Mountain West Softball Player of the Week, while teammate Hailey McLean was tabbed MW Co-Pitcher of the Week along with San Diego State’s Cece Cellura. The MW Softball Freshman of the Week honor was awarded to Boise State’s Makenzie Butt.
This is the third weekly honor for Butt and McLean and second for Jenkins and Cellura during the 2025 season.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
AALIYAH JENKINS, NEVADA
Senior, Catcher, Tracy, California/Tracy HS
- Led the Wolf Pack to a 2-1 series victory against San Diego State and a nonconference win over Idaho State (8-0).
- Started all four games on the week, recording a batting average of .455, a .571 on-base percentage and a 1.091 slugging percentage.
- Across the four games, logged three runs, including a three-run home run, and totaled four RBIs and five hits on 11 at-bats.
- Defensively, collected 17 putouts and two assists for the Wolf Pack.
- The senior set a program record with 169 career RBIs over the weekend.
CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK
HAILEY MCLEAN, NEVADA
Junior, Sparks, Nevada/Utah State
- Helped the Pack to a 3-1 week including a 2-1 series win over San Diego State and a nonconference victory over Idaho State (8-0).
- The junior registered a 0.70 ERA on 10 innings in the circle.
- Allowed a single earned run, six hits and struck out eight batters across all three game appearances.
CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK
CECE CELLURA, SAN DIEGO STATE
Sophomore, Glendale, California/Louisville HS
- Earned the Aztecs’ lone win against Nevada to deny the Wolf Pack a series sweep.
- In 10.2 innings in the circle, allowed one earned run and seven hits and logged 10 strikeouts.
- Recorded an ERA of 0.66.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
MAKENZIE BUTT, BOISE STATE
Garden Grove, California/Fountain Valley HS
- Helped the Broncos to a 3-0 series sweep on the road at UNLV.
- Started all three games for the Blue and Orange at first base.
- Had a batting average of .455, an on-base percentage of .571 and a slugging percentage of 1.273.
- Collected a home run in each of the three games.
- Tallied seven runs, seven RBIs and five hits on 11 at-bats.
- Defensively, amassed 21 putouts.
