COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – San Diego State infielder Lala Macario was tabbed the Mountain West Softball Player of the Week, while teammate Cece Cellura was named the MW Pitcher of the Week. Boise State’s Chloe Hughes garnered the MW Freshman of the Week nod.

LALA MACARIO, SAN DIEGO STATE
Senior, Infielder, Chula Vista, California/Central Florida
- Led the Aztecs to a 5-0 week at the Clearwater Invitational with wins over then-No. 14/12 Alabama (4-1), Wichita State (4-3), No. 16/16 Missouri (5-2), Virginia (6-2) and Charlotte (11-8).
- The senior started all 5 contests at second base, while recording at least one hit while at bat.
- On the week, posted a .500 batting average and .529 on-base percentage with eight hits in 16 at-bats, four runs and one RBI.
- Defensively, logged seven putouts and 11 assists for San Diego State.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
CECE CELLURA, SAN DIEGO STATE
Sophomore, Glendale, California/Louisville HS
- Led the Aztecs in the circle to a 5-0 week at the Clearwater Invitational.
- Earned wins in four of San Diego State’s five games, while securing the save in the fifth.
- In 14.1 innings in the circle, allowed only five runs, notched a 2.44 ERA and stuck out 10 batters.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
CHLOE HUGHES, BOISE STATE
Short Stop, Mariposa, California/Mariposa HS
- Assisted the Broncos to a 3-2 week with wins over North Dakota State (8-0), BYU (8-6), FIU (18-1) and losses to FIU (4-2) and Indiana (10-4).
- On the weekend, logged an .800 batting average, .833 on-base percentage and a 1.200 slugging percentage in 10 at-bats with eight hits, eight RBIs and four runs.
- Defensively, recorded five putouts and five assists for the Blue and Orange.
