COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – UNLV’s Alyssa Trejo was tabbed the Mountain West Softball Player of the Week, while San Diego State’s Dee Dee Hernandez was named the MW Softball Pitcher of the Week. Colorado State’s Reagan Wick collected the MW Freshman of the Week nod.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ALYSSA TREJO, UNLV
Senior, INF Tucson, Arizona/Tucson High Magnet School
- Helped the Rebels to a 2-1 series win over San José State, clinching a spot in the MW championship tournament.
- Recorded a .600 batting average with six hits, including a double, and a team-high four RBIs.
- Logged a .700 slugging percentage and a .667 on-base percentage.
- Also tallied 28 putouts for the Scarlet and Gray.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
DEE DEE HERNANDEZ, SAN DIEGO STATE
Junior, RHP, La Crescenta, California/Crescenta Valley HS
- Went 1-1 on the weekend with a 2.03 ERA in 10 1/3 innings in the circle for the Aztecs.
- Logged three strikeouts, two walks and only one extra-base hit.
- Threw five scoreless innings of relief on Sunday, notching the Aztecs 4-2 win over Nevada, while giving up four hits, no walks and striking out two batters.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
REAGAN WICK, COLORADO STATE
RHP, Weimer, Texas/Weimer HS
- Pitched a complete game during the Fresno State series, earning the Rams a run rule win, clinching a spot in the Conference tournament.
- Logged two strikeouts and only allowed four hits.
- Recorded a 1.17 ERA from the circle.
