COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State senior Kelsey Hall has been tabbed the Mountain West Softball Player of the Week, while San Diego State’s Allie Light has been named MW Softball Pitcher of the Week. Mountain West Softball Freshman of the Week honors go to Utah State’s Jaden Colunga.
This is Colunga and Hall’s fourth career MW weekly honor and Light’s third.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
KELSEY HALL, BOISE STATE
Senior, OF, Sacramento, California/Fresno State
- Helped Boise State to a Conference-series sweep over New Mexico.
- Posted a .857 batting average (6-for-7), with a double and four home runs.
- Logged eight runs on six hits with 13 RBIs.
- Registered a 2.714 slugging percentage and .917 on-base percentage.
- Had one stolen base on the weekend.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
ALLIE LIGHT, SAN DIEGO STATE
Junior, RHP, Lexington, South Carolina/Arkansas
- Led San Diego State to a 2-1 series win at Utah State, including a six inning, 13-0 shutout in the opening game of the series.
- Won both games pitched while facing a total of 40 batters.
- Posted a .70 ERA in 10 innings, striking out six batters with four walks and allowed just six hits.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
JADEN COLUNGA, UTAH STATE
OF, Colton, California/Grand Terrace HS
- Recorded a .375 batting average (3-for-8), tied for the team-lead at the plate, as well as a team-best two doubles.
- Posted a .625 slugging percentage and a .444 on-base percentage.
- Logged eight putouts from the field.
