COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – San Diego State senior Justin Hastings has been named the Mountain West Men’s Golfer of the Week and teammate Harry Takis is the Freshman of the Week.

The MW honor is the fifth of Hastings’ career and second for Takis.

JUSTIN HASTINGS, SAN DIEGO STATE
Senior, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands/Cayman International School

  • Led San Diego State to a 16-stroke win at the Lamkin Classic, finishing first with a 16-under-par 200.
  • Turned in the lowest 54-hole score in tournament history.
  • Opened with a 4-under 68 before turning in consecutive 6-under 66s.
  • Birdied 20 holes over 54 played.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
HARRY TAKIS, SAN DIEGO STATE
Brisbane, Australia/Kelvin Grove State College (HS)

  • Tied for second at the Lamkin Classic, shooting a career-low 12-under 204 for his best career finish.
  • Helped SDSU to a 16-stroke team win that included a third-round 20-under 268.
  • Shot three rounds in the 60s, opening with a 5-under 67 before adding a 4-under 68 and a 3-under 69.
