COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State’s Sophia Knight was selected as the Mountain West Softball Player of the Week while, New Mexico’s McKenna Guest was tabbed the MW Pitcher of the Week. UNM’s Natalie Fritz was named the MW Freshman of the Week nod.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

SOPHIA KNIGHT, BOISE STATE

Sophomore, Outfielder, Huntington Beach, California/Huntington Beach HS

  • Led the Broncos to a 4-0 week with wins over Idaho State, Utah and Montana.
  • Hit .615 with eight hits, including a triple, five runs and four RBIs.
  • Posted an on-base percentage of .667 and a slugging percentage of .769.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

McKENNA GUEST, NEW MEXICO

Sophomore, Pattonville, Texas/Prairiland HS

  • Went 2-0 in two starts in the circle for New Mexico.
  • Pitched 11 innings and gave up just three runs and 10 hits.
  • Struck out a total of 13 batters.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

NATALIE FRITZ, NEW MEXICO

Pitcher, Chandler, Arizona/Basha HS

  • Helped the New Mexico a 4-0 record with wins over Saint Joseph’s, San Diego and Penn.
  • Posted .70 ERA after limiting opponents to two runs in 10 innings of work.
  • Recorded a win and a save, while striking out six batters.
