GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Cole Rueck fired a 6-under 66 for the second-straight day and finished at 16-under to capture the Loyola Intercollegiate at Palm Valley GC.

Rueck (68-66-66—200) recorded six birdies in the final round, Tuesday and played bogey free golf for the second-consecutive round. For the 54-hole event, the Corvallis, Oregon native made 19 birdies and had three bogeys, only one of which came over his final 50 holes.

Led by Rueck, Boise State (286-277-282—845, -19) tie for second in the 19-team field.

“That was a good start to the spring,” head coach David Trainor said. “If you had told me coming out of our weather, would finish second, I might have taken it before teeing off. I’m very proud of the effort of all our guys. Congrats to Cole. He played almost flawless golf this week.”

Luke Cushman carded three rounds under par (70-69-70—209, -7) to tie for eighth, the second-career top 10 finish for the sophomore.

The Broncos return to action at the Lake Las Vegas Invitational, Feb. 24-26.
