COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the second year in a row, Utah State is headed to the NCAA women’s soccer tournament, making its fourth NCAA tournament appearance in program history after claiming the 2024 Mountain West tournament title and earning the league’s automatic bid to the big dance.
Utah State (18-1-4) will host Washington (10-6-3) on Friday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. MT, to open the 2024 NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament. The Aggies earned a No. 8 seed and will host an NCAA tournament match for the first time in program history. It also marks the first time that a MW team will play an NCAA tournament match at home since 2012.
This marks the fourth meeting between the Aggies and the Huskies in program history and first since 2012. USU is 0-2-1 overall against Washington since the first meeting in 2001.
With a 7-1-3 record in MW action, USU earned the No. 2 seed in the MW tournament and knocked off top-seeded Boise State to win its second MW tournament title in a row.
Utah State’s roster features 11 All-Mountain West selections, including MW Defender of the Year Kaitlyn Richins and transfer Cora Brendle, the MW Newcomer of the Year. Additionally, USU’s Manny Martins was named the MW Coach of the Year. In his fourth season at USU, the Aggies spent eight weeks in the United Soccer Coaches poll, climbing as high as No. 7 under Martins’ guidance.
