FORT COLLINS, Colorado – No. 11 Utah State soccer (12-1-3, 3-1-2 MW) picked up a point on the road Sunday afternoon, playing to a 1-1 draw with Colorado State at the CSU Soccer Field in Fort Collins.

Both goals in the match came in the first half, with the Aggies striking first in the 19th minute. Following a short corner kick, a deflected ball found sophomore midfielder Summer Diamond just outside the top of the 18-yard box. Diamond tapped it to junior forward Tess Werts, who chipped a shot past the keeper and into the top corner of the net. The Rams answered to even things up in the 30th minute with a header off of a well-placed cross from the endline.

The Aggies dominated time of possession and took 16 shots to Colorado State’s five, including a 9-3 shot advantage in the second half, but were unable to find a second goal despite several strong looks.
