COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State junior Matthew Wilkinson has been tabbed the Mountain West Men’s Golfer of the Month for September, while teammate Ralf Kivi has been selected as the MW Freshman of the Month.

The monthly honors are the first for both athletes. Wilkinson earned MW Freshman of the Week honors once during the 2022-23 season.

GOLFER OF THE MONTH
MATTHEW WILKINSON, COLORADO STATE
Junior, Centennial, Colorado/Arapahoe

  • Posted a 69.33 stroke average over nine rounds in the month, with seven rounds under par and four in the 60s, including a low round of 65.
  • Posted three top-20 finishes in as many outings, helping the Rams win their first three tournaments of the fall season.
  • Opened the 2024-25 campaign with a 10th-place finish at the Ram Masters Invitational at 3-under-par 207 (67-72-68).
  • Shot a 10-under 206 (65-70-71) to win the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational by three strokes, helping the Rams to their third straight team title at the event.
  • Capped his month with an 18th-place finish at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational, shooting a 5-under 211 (74-67-70) to help CSU jump three places into first in the final round. The Rams shot a collective 36-under 828 for the tournament, the fourth-lowest score against par in program history.

FRESHMAN OF THE MONTH
RALF KIVI, COLORADO STATE
Freshman, Kuressaare, Estonia/Audentes Sports Gymnasium

  • Turned in a trio of top-20 finishes to open his collegiate career, averaging 69.78 strokes over nine rounds.
  • Shot seven rounds under par, including five in the 60s with a low of 67.
  • Playing as an individual in the Ram Masters Invitational, he shot an even-par 210 (69-72-69) to finish 18th.
  • Placed fifth at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, firing a 4-under 212 (71-72-69) to help the Rams capture the title.
  • Shot under par in all three rounds at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational, finishing at 10-under 206 (70-67-69) to tie for fifth and share CSU’s top finish.
