MESA, Ariz. — San Diego State (35-23, 16-8 MW) defeated Air Force (27-28, 15-9 MW) 11–8 in an elimination game at the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Baseball Championship at Sloan Park in Mesa, Ariona.

The Aztecs trailed 8-1 in the bottom of the sixth before mounting an impressive comeback, scoring five runs in that inning and two in the seventh to tie the game. They surged in the late innings, ultimately scoring 10-unanswered runs, including three in the eighth, to secure the win. SDSU recorded 11 hits, including four doubles and a home run, while its pitchers combined for 11 strikeouts over nine innings.

San Diego State’s Jabin Trosky delivered a notable performance, driving in three runs and hitting a home run. Aztec catcher Zach Justice led the game with three hits and scored twice, while Jake Jackson, the MW Tony Gwynn Player of the Year, also stood out with two hits, three runs scored and two RBIs. On the mound, Jake Frohn was effective in relief, pitching 3.2 innings and allowing just one earned run, while striking out five batters.

Air Force wraps the MW tournament with a combined 18 stolen bases, setting a championship record. Five Falcons tallied multi hits on the night, including MW Freshman of the Year Wyatt Hanoian, who had two RBIs, two runs scored and one home run.

San Diego State will face No. 2 Washington State in the first of potentially two games on championship day as the Cougars have yet to be defeated in the Conference tournament. First pitch is slated for 12:05 p.m. MST on the Mountain West Network.
