COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West announced the 2025-26 Women’s Golf All-Conference teams today, as well as the MW Women’s Golfer of the Year, MW Women’s Golf Freshman of the Year and MW Women’s Golf Coach of the Year, as voted on by the league’s 10 head coaches.

UNLV junior Zi Yu Foong was named MW Women’s Golfer of the Year, Grand Canyon’s Alexis Vakasiuola was tabbed the MW Freshman of the Year and UNLV’s Amy Bush-Herzer collected MW Coach of the Year honors.

Foong is the highest nationally ranked MW women’s golfer (No. 109), and most recently helped UNLV win the Conference tournament title on April 23, shooting an even-par 216. The Salangar, Malaysia, native took medalist honors at the Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic and finished tied for third at the MW championship. Foong recorded a 71.75 stroke average on her way to becoming the ninth UNLV student-athlete to be named the MW Golfer of the Year and the first since 2017-18 (Polly Mack).

Vakasiuola is the third-highest nationally ranked golfer in the league (No. 174) and led the Lopes to a third-place finish at Grand Canyon’s first Mountain West Championship. The freshman finished in a four-way individual tie for third with 216 strokes across three rounds. During the regular-season, she registered a 72.1 strokes per round average and logged five top-five finishes and eight top-10 finishes.

Bush-Herzer is the MW Coach of the Year for the second consecutive year and fifth time in her career after leading the Rebels to their second consecutive MW women’s golf title and a berth in the NCAA regionals. This season, UNLV posted five top-five performances and enter the postseason riding a three-tournament streak of finishing within the top-five.

The Rebels and Vakasiuola will represent the Mountain West at the NCAA Ann Arbor Regional, May 11- 13.
