LOGAN, Utah – Former Utah State goalkeeper Taylor Rath has signed a professional contract with the NWSL’s Chicago Stars, the organization announced on Thursday.
“I’m really excited for the opportunity to join the Chicago Stars and step into this next chapter,” Rath said. “I’m grateful to be part of a club with such high standards and ambition. I’m looking forward to getting to work, continuing to grow, and doing whatever I can to help the team succeed.”
Rath, a Las Vegas, Nevada, native, spent her senior season at Utah State after transferring in from Pepperdine. She was an all-Mountain West second team honoree in 2025 as she helped the team to its third-consecutive MW tournament championship and NCAA Tournament appearance. Rath also earned a spot on the league’s all-newcomer team, and was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2025 Mountain West Tournament after making a pair of critical penalty kick saves in the championship game.
Rath made 18 appearances and 20 starts in an Aggie uniform, totaling 1,544 minutes in net. She posted a 0.93 goals against average, allowing just 16 goals and recording five shutouts on the season. Rath totaled 39 saves, including a season-high five in the NCAA Tournament first round matchup at BYU.
