COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State senior Rhiannon Walker has been named the Mountain West Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, while Air Force’s Morgan Glaser and Cadee Alder were named the MW Women’s Field Athlete of the Week and the MW Women’s Track & Field Freshman of the Week, respectively.

 

On the men’s side, fellow Falcon Jettason Rose earned MW Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, Colorado State’s Kyle Bigley picked up MW Men’s Field Athlete of the Week honors and Utah State’s Henry Tait was named the MW Men’s Track & Field Freshman of the Week.

WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
RHIANNON WALKER, FRESNO STATE
Junior, Fresno, California/Clovis CC

  • In her first career Division I 3,000-meter steeplechase race, took first-place at the Cal Invitational (Berkeley, California).
  • Her time of 10:47.62 is fifth-fastest in program history and fastest time by a Bulldog since 2013.
  • The time ranks No. 5 in the NCAA and No. 2 in the Mountain West.

WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
MORGAN GLASER, AIR FORCE
Sophomore, La Vista, Nebraska/Papillion La Vista HS

  • Placed first in the high jump at the Dr. Dan Caprioglio Invitational (Pueblo, Colorado) with a career-best clearance of 1.81 meters (5-11.25).
  • The mark ranks No. 2 in the NCAA and is the second-best outdoor clearance in Air Force history.
  • Added a third-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time an altitude-adjusted time of 62.16, which ranks fifth in the Mountain West.

WOMEN’S FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
CADEE ALDER, AIR FORCE
Ephraim, Utah/Manti HS

  • In her outdoor collegiate debut, took first in the javelin at the Dr. Dan Caprioglio Invitational.
  • Her mark of 48.60 meters (159-5.0) is the third-best in Air Force history and bested the program’s freshman record from 2009 by more than eight feet.
  • Ranks second in the Mountain West and is the seventh-best throw by a freshman in the NCAA.

MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
JETTASON ROSE, AIR FORCE
Senior, Quincy, Illinois/Quincy HS

  • Swept the 100-meter and 200-meter sprint titles at the Dr. Dan Caprioglio Invitational.
  • His wind-aided 100-meter time of 10.21 is the fastest all-conditions time in Air Force history.
  • His 200-meter time is the second-fastest in program history and a senior class record.
  • Both marks currently rank in the top seven in the NCAA with his 100-meter time at No. 7 and his 200-meter time at No. 4.

MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
KYLE BIGLEY, COLORADO STATE
RS Junior, Pueblo, Colorado/Pueblo Central HS

  • Took first place in the shot put at the Dr. Dan Caprioglio Invitational in his hometown of Pueblo, Colorado.
  • His mark of 18.18 meters (59-7.75) ranks first in the Mountain West and No. 9 in the NCAA.
  • Added a fourth-place finish in the discus with a mark of 51.36 meters (168-2.0) that ranks fifth in the MW and a fifth-place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 55.79 meters (183-0.0) that ranks third overall in the Conference.

  • In his first collegiate outdoor meet, took second overall in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Utah Tech Invitational.
  • His time of 9:19.62 lead the Mountain West, ranks No. 9 in the nation and second among all freshman nationally.
