COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – UNLV sophomore Ilia Snitari has been selected as the Mountain West Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, while Nevada’s Ibrahim Snoussi earned MW Men’s Tennis Freshman of the Week honors.

On the women’s side, Boise State’s Carla Grignac picked up the MW Women’s Tennis Player and Freshman of the Week nods.

MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ILIA SNITARI, UNLV
Sophomore, Kishinev, Moldova/Gloria Sports Theoretical Lyceum

  • Went a combined 6-0 in singles and doubles to help UNLV to a 3-0 weekend at home with dual wins over UC Riverside, New Mexico State and Weber State
  • Ranked No. 35 in the nation, did not lose a single set while playing at the No. 1 spot in both singles and doubles.
  • Improved to 16-1 this season and 24-1 as a Rebel.

MEN’S TENNIS FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
IBRAHIM SNOUSSI, NEVADA
Freshman, Tunisia

  • Went a combined 3-0 in two singles matches and one doubles match across three duals on the week, helping Nevada to an unbeaten start to the season at 4-0.
  • In collegiate debut, won 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (9) at the No. 5 singles spot at UC Riverside.
  • Added a straight-sets victory at No. 6 singles and a doubles victory in the No. 2 spot in a doubleheader against Menlo College.

WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER & FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
CARLA GRIGNAC, BOISE STATE
Freshman, Dakar, Senegal, Netherlands/CNED France

  • Won 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (6) against Carina Syrtveit of No. 22 Washington.
  • Improved to 2-0 on the season.
