AROUND THE MOUNTAIN WEST
- The MW has one program in the top 70 of the NET (Colorado State – 70) and four in the top 110 (UNLV – 82; San Diego State – 87; New Mexico – 108).
- The Mountain West is one of 10 leagues (ACC, A10, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Ivy, SEC, Sun Belt and WCC) that have three or more teams ranked in the top 90 of the NET rankings.
- Mountain West teams have taken down six Autonomous 4 and Big East programs: UNLV 85 – DePaul 78, Grand Canyon 78 – SMU 60, UNLV 76 – Creighton 67, New Mexico 72 at Arizona 69, San Diego State 64 at Kansas State 53, New Mexico 63 – Houston 41.
- The MW is one of 11 leagues and one of seven non-A4 conferences, to hold opponents to 62.8 points per game or less this season (SEC – 58.9, America East – 60.0, Ivy – 60.9, Big 12 – 61.2, Coastal – 62.3, Big Ten – 62.3, Southern – 62.5, A10 – 62.5, Big East, 62.6, ACC – 62.7, Mountain West – 63.2).
- Both San Diego State and UNLV have started Conference play 6-0, the fourth time in MW history that two teams have started league play with six straight wins (2006-07, 2007-08, 2015-16). The only season in which two different MW teams started 7-0 in conference action was 2015-16 (Colorado State & Fresno State).
- SDSU has won 14 straight games against Conference opponents (including Conference tournament), the eighth-longest active such win streak in DI. The Aztec’s 13 straight games against league opponents with a win and outshooting their opponent from the field is the third-longest active streak in DI (South Dakota State – 21, UConn- 19).
- Boise State is shooting 38.6 percent from beyond the arc this season while its opponents have a 3-point percentage of 29.8 percent. The only other DI teams with such a high 3-point percentage and such a low opposing 3-point percentage this season are Marquette and UConn.
- As a team, the Broncos are ranked sixth in DI for 3-point percentage (38.6).
- The Rams are ranked 20th in DI in opponent points (55.3) and opponent field goal percentage (35.2).|
- Colorado State’s Lexus Bargesser is one of four DI players leading her team in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks this season (including ties). The others are USC’s Jazzy Davidson, St. Bonaventure’s Laycee Drake and UConn’s Sarah Strong.
- Boise State’s Natalie Pasco has made 46 three-pointers this season, nine more than any other MW player. Only four DI conference leaders in made threes this season have a larger gap to the player second in the category.|
- UNLV’s Meadow Roland leads the MW in double-doubles this season with six while her teammate Shelbee Brown ranks second with five. The only DI teams with more such players than UNLV this season are Iowa State and Mississippi State (three each).

March 10 – MW Championship Game @ 6:30 p.m. PT (CBSSN) - UNLV’s Destiny Leo has been named to the 2026 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award watch list. Leo is one of 20 student-athletes on the list.
- UNLV’s Lindy La Rocque has been named to the 2026 Kathy Delaney-Smith Coach of the Year preseason watch list.
- The MW welcomes three new head coaches to the league: Ryan McCarthy (Fresno State), Winston Gandy (Grand Canyon) and Jonas Chatterton (San José State).
- Four MW programs competed in postseason tournaments last season: Air Force (WNIT), San Diego State (NCAA), UNLV (WBIT), Wyoming (WBIT).
