AROUND THE MOUNTAIN WEST
- In each of the last five seasons, the Mountain West has sent at least three programs to postseason tournaments.
- Three in 2020-21 (Fresno State, New Mexico, Wyoming)
- Five in 2021-22 (Air Force, Colorado State, New Mexico, UNLV, Wyoming)
- Five in 2022-23 (Colorado State, New Mexico, San Diego State, UNLV, Wyoming)
- Three in 2023-24 (Boise State, UNLV, Wyoming)
- Four in 2024-25 (Air Force, San Diego State, UNLV, Wyoming)
- Four teams in the MW have won at least seven of their last 10 contests, just in time for MW Madness, including San Diego State (9-1), Boise State (8-2), New Mexico (8-2) and Colorado State (7-3).
- Six teams have double digit league wins this season, which ties for the second-most in MW history.
- The MW has two programs in the top 75 of the NET (San Diego State – 68; Colorado State– 72) and five in the top 115 (UNLV – 98; Boise State – 111; New Mexico – 115).
- Colorado State has one Quad 1 win, defeating Gonzaga (70-66), which currently sits in second place in the WCC standings.
- Colorado State is ranked 11th in DI in opponent points (55.4), 13th in DI in opponent field goal percentage (35.7) and 22nd in free throw percentage (77.0).
- San Diego State is 2-1 against Quad 1 and 2 opponents, defeating Kansas State (64-53) and Colorado State (46-44).
- Boise State is ranked second in DI for 3-point percentage (39.2), behind only UCONN. It is on pace for the fifth-best mark in MW history and best since Utah in 2008-09 (39.6). The only other MW program to finish in the top two nationally in the category was Wyoming in 2018-19 (38.7 percent).
- Mountain West teams have taken down six Autonomous 4 and Big East programs: UNLV 85 – DePaul 78, Grand Canyon 78 – SMU 60, UNLV 76 – Creighton 67, New Mexico 72 at Arizona 69, San Diego State 64 at Kansas State 53, New Mexico 63 – Houston 41.
- The MW is one of eight leagues to hold opponents to 62.7 points per game or less this season (America East – 59.0, Ivy – 60.4, Southern – 60.8, Patriot – 60.9, Coastal – 61.4, A10 – 62.1, CUSA – 62.3, Mountain West – 62.7).
