COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Four Mountain West tennis players are set to compete at the 2025 NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships, taking place Nov. 18-23 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida. The University of Central Florida and the USTA will serve as hosts.
A pair of Rebels will represent the conference in the men’s singles competition after UNLV sophomore Ilia Snitari and senior Illia Maksymchuk advanced to the men’s final of the ITA Mountain Regional Championship, where both participants qualify. This marks the first time since 2022 that UNLV is sending any player – men’s or women’s – to the singles championships, while it is the second time two Rebels have earned berths in the NCAA field in the same year, the other coming in 1996.
Snitari, who is 10-0 this fall and 18-0 overall in his collegiate career, will face Arizona State’s Shu Matsuoka starting at 1:30 p.m. PT.
Maksymchuk, who is 9-1 this fall, will take on Kentucky’s Jack Loutit at 10 a.m. PT.
On the women’s side, San Diego State’s Jo-Yee Chan and Vessa Turley will compete in the women’s doubles bracket after winning the ITA Masters Championship in San Diego in early November. The pair won the MW Tennis Fall Qualifier in October to earn a spot at the Masters Tournament and played their way into the NCAA field with the victory in San Diego.
Chan and Turley will begin their journey against NC State’s Jasmine Conway and Anna Zyryanova on Wednesday, Nov. 19.
