COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the third year in a row, Utah State is headed to the NCAA women’s soccer championship, making its fifth NCAA tournament appearance in program history after claiming the 2025 Mountain West tournament title and earning the league’s automatic bid to the big dance.
Utah State (10-6-6) will travel to No. 5 seed BYU (11-6-4) on Friday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. MT, to open the 2025 NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament. This is the second time in the last three postseasons that two teams have met on the pitch.
This marks the 19th meeting between the Aggies and the Cougars in program history. Utah State has a 3-15-1 overall record against BYU since the first meeting in 1996.
With a 5-2-3 record in MW action, USU earned the No. 3 seed in the MW tournament and knocked off top-seeded Boise State in penalty kicks to win its third MW tournament title in a row.
The Aggies are just the third team in Mountain West history to win the league’s tournament three season in a row (BYU, 1999-2002; San Diego State, 2012-14).
Utah State’s roster features six All-Mountain West selections, including two-time All-Mountain West honorees Tess Werts and Kaylie Chambers. USU head coach Manny Martins has led the Aggies to three NCAA tournament appearances in five seasons at the helm.
