BOISE, Idaho – The Mountain West announced its 2025 women’s soccer all-conference teams and individual award winners on Monday afternoon, as voted on by the league’s head coaches.
Air Force sophomore Annika Jost has been named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year, while Boise State goalkeeper Ava de Leest was tabbed as the MW Defensive Player and Newcomer of the Year. Air Force head coach Laura Busby was voted as the MW Coach of the Year.
Jost, a product of Temecula, California, is the second Falcon and first since 2019 (Lexi Romero) to be named MW Offensive Player of the Year. The midfielder is just the third sophomore to earn the offensive honor and led the league with eight goals and 20 points in Conference play. Additionally, Jost recorded four assists, tying for the second most in Conference play.
A native of Fullerton, California, de Leest becomes the second Bronco in program history to earn the defensive honor and first since Macie Nelson earned the honor in 2020. The freshman is also the second Bronco to be named the MW Newcomer of the Year (Raimee Sherle, 2016). The goalkeeper posted a Conference-best five shutouts in MW action and limited opponents to just six goals, posting a goals against average of .600. Additionally, de Leest recorded 35 saves.
Busby earned her and Air Force’s first MW Coach of the Year accolade. Busby led the Falcons to a 6-2-2 Conference record and earned the No. 2 seed in the MW championship. In her fourth season at Air Force, Busby led the Falcons to their first MW championship appearance since 2017 and the highest seed in program history.
In the 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Women’s Soccer Championship semifinal matches, No. 2 Air Force plays No. 3 Utah State on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 4 p.m. MT, followed by top seeded Boise State versus No. 4 San Diego State at 7 p.m. MT. Both matches will be on the Mountain West Network.
The winners of the semifinal matches will vie for the Conference championship title on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. MT. The winner will be crowned the 2025 MW women’s soccer champion and punch its ticket to the NCAA women’s soccer tournament.
