COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – UNLV’s Jaida Harris was tabbed the Old Trapper Mountain West Women’s Volleyball Offensive Player, while New Mexico’s Camila Canedo was selected as the Defensive Player of the Week. Grand Canyon’s Bella Nunez collected the Freshman of the Week nod.

This is the third career MW weekly honor for Nunez and first for Harris and Canedo.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JAIDA HARRIS, UNLV
Sophomore, Outside Hitter, Las Vegas, Nevada/Long Beach State

  • Led UNLV to a pair of victories over New Mexico (3-2) and San Diego State (3-1).
  • Averaged 5.4 kills per set with a .317 hitting efficiency.
  • Against the Lobos, tallied a career-high 27 kills, three service aces and one assist.
  • Against the Aztecs, logged 22 kills and one service ace for the Rebels.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
CAMILA CANEDO, NEW MEXICO
Junior, Libero, Curitiba, Brazil/Colby CC

  • Helped the Lobos to a 1-1 week with a win over Grand Canyon (3-1) and a loss at UNLV (2-3).
  • Averaged 5.1 digs per set and recorded a .974 reception percentage on 78 attempts.
  • At UNLV, registered 16 digs.
  • Against the Lopes, notched a career-high 30 digs.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
BELLA NUNEZ, GRAND CANYON
Freshman, Setter/Opposite Hitter, El Paso, Texas/Americas HS

  • Guided the Lopes to a 1-1 week on the road with a win at San Diego State (3-2) and a loss at New Mexico (1-3).
  • Averaged 3.56 kills, 4.4 assists, 2.78 digs and one block per set.
  • At San Diego State, recorded 17 kills on a .455 attack percentage, 24 assists, 12 digs and five blocks.
  • At New Mexico, collected 15 kills, 16 assists, 13 digs and four blocks.
