LOGAN, Utah – Former Utah State goalkeeper Cora Brendle has signed a contract to play professionally overseas with FC Porto, a club based in Porto, Portugal, a city of approximately 250,000 people located on Portugal’s northern coast.

FC Porto, a team which was founded in 2024, plays in Portugal’s Women’s National Championship, or Campeonato Nacional Feminino. In its first year of existence, FC Porto won the league’s Third Division to earn promotion to the Second Division where it will compete in the upcoming season.

Brendle, a native of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, played one season for the Aggies as a graduate in 2024 after beginning her career at USC Upstate. In her lone season with USU, she was named the Mountain West Newcomer of the Year and an all-Mountain West second team selection.

Brendle posted a 0.49 goals against average in 2024, which ranks second-best for a season in program history, and best for a career. She also recorded a program-record 11 shutouts, helping the Aggies to an 18-1-5 overall record, a Mountain West Tournament title and an NCAA Tournament appearance.
