COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Utah State has been selected as the preseason favorite to capture the 2025 Mountain West women’s soccer regular-season title as voted on by the league’s 13 head coaches.

The Aggies garnered 128 points and six first-place votes, earning the top spot in the preseason coaches poll. Last season, Utah State made its second straight appearance in the NCAA women’s soccer tournament after claiming the 2024 MW tournament title.

The defending MW regular-season champion Boise State was selected to finish the upcoming season in second place with 121 points and three first-place votes, while Colorado State was picked third with 111 points and one first-place vote. Also receiving a first-place vote was San Diego State with 109 points and chosen to finish fourth.

Grand Canyon was selected fifth in the poll with 93 points, and UNLV rounded out the top half of the predicted order of finish in sixth place with 87 points.

New Mexico earned the final two first-place votes and was picked seventh with 80 points. Wyoming is tabbed eighth with 59 points, followed by Nevada in ninth with 55 points, Colorado College 10th with 54 points, Fresno State 11th with 50 points, Air Force 12th with 44 points and San José State 13th with 23 points.

The Mountain West also announced the 2025 MW Women’s Soccer Watch List, as selected by the Conference’s head coaches. Among the 39 players to watch to watch in 2025, seven were All-Mountain West selections last season.

The 2025 season kicks off on Thursday, Aug. 14.
