NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – Boise State EDGE Jayden Virgin-Morgan was selected as one of 42 players on the 2025 Lott IMPACT Trophy Watch List, the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation announced on Wednesday.
The trophy is presented annually to the nation’s top defensive player who makes an IMPACT (Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity) in both character and performance. Founded in 2004, the Lott Trophy is named after College Football and Pro Football Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott, and the 42 honorees represent the number Lott wore during his illustrious career.
Virgin-Morgan is the only player from the Group of 5 on the Watch List. He is the first Bronco to be named to the Watch List since Kekaula Kaniho earned the distinction prior to the 2021 season. Kaniho was also one of 24 semifinalists for the award in 2020.
A returning All-Mountain West First Team honoree, Virgin-Morgan enters the 2025 campaign following a dominant season as a redshirt sophomore. The San Diego, Calif. native started in all 14 games and recorded 10 total sacks on the year, the second-most in the league and tied for the 14th-highest mark in the nation.
He also notched 15.5 tackles for loss, tied for the third-most in the conference and tied for the 17th-most across the country. Virgin-Morgan totaled 61 yards from sacks on the year, which tied for the fifth-most in program history, and completed the season with 40 tackles, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
A criminal justice major, Virgin-Morgan is a two-time Academic All-MW honoree. He has volunteered over 20 hours during his tenure with the Blue and Orange, including work at the Idaho Food Bank and various visits to Treasure Valley area schools.
