MW Outdoor Track & Field Championship Central | Results – Day One

CLOVIS, CALIF. – The 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field Championships kicked off on Thursday beginning with eight events at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis, California.

Competition opened in the morning with the men’s decathlon and the women’s heptathlon followed by the women’s and men’s hammer throw finals. The evening portion featured the men’s and women’s prelims in the 800-meter, 200-meter, and 400-meter hurdle races before both the men’s and women’s finals in the javelin throw and the 10,000-meter race concluded day one competition. Following the completion of three events, Fresno State leads the women’s team scores with 34 points while Air Force leads the men’s team scores with 31 points heading into day two.

Air Force’s Texas Tanner broke the MW Championship record in the men’s hammer throw with his throw of 73.23 meters, securing his second straight first-place finish in the event. New Mexico’s Vincent Chirchir (28:59.75) would go on to break the MW Championship record in the men’s 10,000 meter race to claim the event title.

Competition for day two will begin at 9:30 a.m. PT Friday with men’s decathlon 110-meter hurdles.
