AUSTIN, Texas – The Boise State women’s tennis team was defeated 4-0 by No. 14 Texas in the second round of the NCAA tournament, Saturday afternoon.
Boise State finishes its season 20-6, marking the seventh 20+ win campaign in program history and the first since 2010.
The Broncos trailed early after the Longhorns secured the doubles point with wins on courts two and one.
Texas continued its strong play into singles, completing the 4-0 sweep with victories on courts three, six and four. Ariadna Briones Ginesta was leading No. 78 Ariana Anazagasty-Pursoo 6-4, 1-6, 1-0 in her third set on court five when play was halted. Maya Dutta and Zdena Safarova were both battling in their second sets on courts one and two, respectively.
