LARAMIE, Wyo. (April 29, 2025) – Former Wyoming Cowboy linebacker Connor Shay was selected in the first round of the Canadian Football League Draft on Tuesday. Shay has dual citizenship, as he was picked sixth overall by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Shay also accepted invites to Rookie Mini Camps with the Green Bay Packers and the New York Jets.
Connor Shay appeared in 49 career games for the Cowboys He finished his career with 97 total tackles and 7.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sack. He had a career year in 2024 with 76 tackles and 7.5 tackles for loss and added 1.5 sacks. He recorded a career-high 12 tackles against Colorado State in 2024 and added 1.5 sacks in his final collegiate game against Washington State.
