LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV two-time All-American wide receiver Ricky White III on Saturday became the first Rebel selected in the NFL Draft since 2010 when he was taken in the seventh round by the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday.
The No. 238 overall selection, White is also the first Rebel wide receiver taken since Henry Bailey was drafted in the seventh round by the New York Jets in 1995. He is only the second UNLV gridder to be selected by the Seahawks, joining defensive lineman Anton Palepoi in the second round of 2002’s draft.
White (Marietta, GA) spent three seasons at UNLV after transferring from Michigan State and finished second in school history in career receptions (218) and 100-yard games (13) and third in receiving yards (3,143) and receiving TDs (23). The 2024 Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Year after leading the nation with four blocked punts, White last season became the first Rebel in history to post more than one 1,000-yard receiving season, finishing with 1,041 on 79 catches and ranking seventh in the nation with 11 touchdowns through the air.
After earning multiple All-America nods on the field the last two years, the two-time team captain was also voted a First Team CSC Academic All-American as a senior after posting a 3.58 GPA with a degree in human services.
