COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Air Force senior Arjun Kersten has been named the Mountain West Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, while Boise State’s Lukas Velik has been selected the MW Men’s Tennis Freshman of the Week.

On the women’s side, Nevada Junior Amahée Charrier earned the MW Women’s Tennis Player of the Week nod, while UNLV Kaho Oyama was tabbed the MW Women’s Tennis Freshman of the Week.

MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ARJUN KERSTEN, AIR FORCE
Senior, Plano, Texas/ Plano West Senior HS

  • Posted a 3-1 record on the week against UNLV and San Diego State, including a perfect 2-0 mark at No. 2 singles.
  • Went 1-1 against UNLV, earning a straight-set win over Illia Maksymchuk, (7-5, 6-1).
  • Delivered a 2-0 performance in a 4-0 sweep against San Diego State.
  • Picked up a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles and a straight-set singles victory at No. 2 singles (7-5, 6-1).

MEN’S TENNIS FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
LUKAS VELIK, BOISE STATE
Prague, Czechia

  • Went undefeated on the week at No. 3 singles.
  • Played a key role in Boise State’s 4-1 win against Nevada, securing a victory at No. 3 singles.
  • After dropping the first set 0-6, Velik bounced back to win (0-6, 6-0, 6-4).

WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
AMAHÉE CHARRIER, NEVADA
Junior, Chambray-les-tours, France/French Touch Academy

  • Went 3-0 overall on the week with one match left unfinished.
  • Posted a 2-0 record in singles, including a straight-set win over Cheuk Ying Shek while competing at No. 1 singles.
  • Played No. 2 doubles and clinched the doubles point against Fresno State.
  • Helped lead the team to a 4-3 victory over San José State.

WOMEN’S TENNIS FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
KAHO OYAMA, UNLV
Toyonaka, Japan/Sundai Kofu HS

  • Went a perfect 4-0 in singles and doubles to help UNLV go undefeated on the week.
  • Dominated play without dropping a single set against San José State and Utah State.
  • Clinched the doubles point on Sunday with a 6-4 victory at No. 3 doubles.
