RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – The 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Women’s Golf Championship will be played at the Dinah Shore Tournament Course at Mission Hills Country Club (par-72, 6,286 yards) from Tuesday, April 15, to Thursday, April 17. It will be the 12th consecutive MW Championship to be contested at Mission Hills.
All nine Mountain West programs will participate in the 54-hole championship, which will see the teams play 18 holes each day, with tee times beginning at 7 a.m. PT.
Entering the championship, five MW programs are ranked in the top 100 nationally. UNLV leads the way at No. 38, followed closely by San José State at No. 45. Colorado State (No. 89), Boise State (No. 92) and New Mexico (No. 98) are also in the top 100, while Nevada (No. 107) and San Diego State (No. 108) are just outside. Fresno State (No. 142) and Wyoming (No. 188) round out the field.
Individually, four MW golfers rank inside the top 150 nationally. UNLV’s Toa Yokoyama paces the Conference at No. 82, with teammate Mayumi Umezu right on her heels at No. 85. San José State’s Lucia Lopez Ortega is ranked No. 125 and teammate Moa Andersson is No. 144.
San José State is the defending team champion, as the Spartans shot a tournament-record 17-under-par 847 last season for their second title in three seasons. SJSU will be looking to become the league’s first back-to-back tournament champion since UNLV won three straight titles from 2016-18. New Mexico owns a league-best 10 team titles, with its last coming in 2023.
Ortega is the top individual returner from last year’s field, as she finished third at 5-under-par 211 in 2024. A San José State player has won two of the last three tournaments, as Kajsa Arwefjäll claimed last year’s crown at 9-under 207 and Natasha Andrea Oon won in 2022 with a 10-under 206. UNM claims a league-high eight individual titles, its last coming from Jenny Lertsadwattana in 2023.
First-round pairings are decided by the Scoreboard powered by Clippd national rankings. The teams ranked seventh, fourth and first are grouped together and have the first tee times; teams 8, 5 and 2 are grouped together and have the second set of tee times, and teams 9, 6 and 3 have the final set of tee times.
