COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State sophomore Teal Matsueda has been named the Mountain West Women’s Golfer of the Week, while San Diego State’s Kylie Phi is the MW Women’s Golf Freshman of the Week selection.

The weekly honor is the second of Matsueda’s career and third for Phi.

GOLFER OF THE WEEK
TEAL MATSUEDA, BOISE STATE
Sophomore, Kaimuki, Hawai‘i/Kalani HS

  • Tied for 11th at the Silicon Valley Showcase at Green Hills Country Club in Millbrae, California.
  • Shot a 3-over-par 216, carding 72s in all three rounds.
  • Turned in her career-best fifth top-25 finish of the season.
  • Recorded 39 pars, second-most in the tournament.
  • Birdied three of her final six holes in the final round.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
KYLIE PHI, SAN DIEGO STATE
Fountain Valley, California/Fountain Valley HS

  • Tied for 35th at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at Kā’anapali Golf Course in Lahaina, Hawai‘i.
  • Shot a 3-over 219 with a 1-under 71 in the second round.
  • Her 219 was a career-low by three strokes.
  • Had 40 pars, tied for seventh-most in the tournament.
  • Averaged 3.97 strokes on the par-4s, tied for ninth-best in the tournament.
