HOUSTON – With day three of the 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Swimming & Diving Championships in the books, three-time defending champion San Diego State continues to hold its lead. Six events wrapped up today: the 200-yard freestyle relay, 100-yard butterfly, 400-yard individual medley, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, and the 100-yard backstroke.
In the 200-yard freestyle relay, San Diego State won the event with a time of 1:29.68, the sixth-fastest all-time in the Conference. Washington State came in second with a time of 1:29.70, while Nevada clocked a third-place finish in 1:30.04.
UNLV’s Fernanda Mendez Guerra nabbed the gold in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 52.61, the eighth-fastest all-time in the Conference. Nevada’s Scarlett Ferris finished in second place in 52.74. Filling in the top three was Washington State’s Emily Lundgren in 52.83. All three placing times qualify as NCAA B Standards.
In the 400-yard individual medley, Colorado State’s Erin Dawson captured gold while logging a winning time of 4:13.48, while teammate Maisy Barbosa logged a third-place finish in 4:15.44. Washington State’s Ariel Wang slid into second place with a time of 4:13.88. All three placing times qualify as NCAA B Standards.
Nevada’s Enkhkhuslen Batbayar posted the Conference’s second-fastest all-time time of 1:45.66 while earning the 200-yard freestyle title. San Diego State’s Wilma Johansson came in at 1:46.24 in second place, while UNLV’s Erika Carlson logged a bronze finish with a time of 1:46.27. All three placing times qualify as NCAA B Standards.
In the 100-yard breaststroke, Fresno State’s Jenna Pulkkinen claimed the title with the Conference’s second-fastest all-time time of 59.19, while teammate Aliz Kalmar followed with a time of 59.52. San Diego State’s Moa Bergdahl claimed the bronze with her time of 59.55. All three placing times qualify as NCAA B Standards.
To close out day three, Nevada’s Scarlett Ferris finished the 100-yard backstroke in first with a time of 51.95. UNLV’s Dominika Trentkiewicz recorded a second-place time of 52.62, while San Diego State’s Abby Storm finished in 52.96 to receive bronze. All three placing times qualify as NCAA B Standards.

Championship events are set to begin at 10:30 a.m. CT Saturday, Feb. 22, with the 200-yard backstroke preliminary round followed by the 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly and platform prelims. The fourth-, third- and second-fastest 1,650-yard freestyle heats will begin at approximately 3:20 p.m. CT. Finals begin at approximately 6 p.m. CT, with the 1,650-yard freestyle finals, followed by the 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly, platform, and the 400-yard freestyle relay.
