COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State sophomore Carson Baker has been named the Mountain West Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, while Air Force’s Langdon Tingleaf has been tabbed the MW Men’s Tennis Freshman of the Week.

On the women’s side, Air Force junior Arianna Van Houweling earned the MW Women’s Tennis Player of the Week nod, while teammate Shivaani Selvan was tabbed the MW Women’s Tennis Freshman of the Week.

MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
CARSON BAKER, BOISE STATE
Sophomore, Charleston, South Carolina/Mississippi

  • At No. 2 singles, Baker overcame a first-set tiebreak loss to beat No. 43 Matthew Forbes.
  • Assisted the team in victory over No. 22 Michigan State with a 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-4.
  • Baker’s win clinched the 4-3 upset victory for the Broncos.

MEN’S TENNIS FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
LANGDON TINGLEAF, AIR FORCE
Owassa, Oklahoma/Tucker Tennis Academy

  • Went undefeated over the weekend with a 2-0 record across singles.
  • Won his singles match against MSU Denver in straight sets (6-0, 6-2).
  • Secured a comeback victory at No. 6 singles against Montana, winning (4-6, 7-5, 10-5).

WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ARIANNA VAN HOUWELING, AIR FORCE
Junior, Las Vegas, Nevada/Faith Lutheran HS

  • Won both singles matches at the second flight, defeating Eastern Washington (6-1, 6-2) and Gonzaga (6-2, 6-4).
  • Went 3-1 on the week, winning both in singles and doubles.

WOMEN’S TENNIS FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
SHIVAANI SELVAN, AIR FORCE
Laurel, Maryland/Hammond HS

  • Recorded a perfect 2-0 singles mark on the week in Spokane, Washington.
  • Secured a 6-2, 6-2 victory against Eastern Washington and a 6-3, 6-1 win over Gonzaga, both at No. 5.
  • In doubles, the No. 79-ranked duo of Selvan and Sofia Mavor led Eastern Washington’s 6-5 before their match was abandoned.
