COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State has been predicted to win the 2025 Mountain West baseball title, as voted on by the league’s eight head coaches on Wednesday. The defending MW tournament champion received six first-place votes and 43 points overall.
After collecting 35 points, Nevada has been selected to finish in second place. Washington State is in third place with 30 points and a first-place vote, while UNLV is tied for fourth with 27 points and the final first-place vote. New Mexico and San Diego State also received 27 points, tying with UNLV for fourth place. Rounding out the poll is Force in seventh (19) and San José State in eighth (16).
Fresno State returns 10 letterwinners from a 2024 squad that won the MW championship title and made the program’s first NCAA tournament appearance since 2019. Among Fresno State’s returners are 2024 All-Mountain West selection senior infielder Eddie Saldivar and 2023 MW Freshman of the Year junior infielder Murf Gray.
The Bulldogs lead the league with four preseason All-Mountain West selections. Nevada landed three on the preseason team, while New Mexico and San Diego State has two each and Air Force, UNLV and Washington State each have one preseason All-MW selection.
The 2025 Mountain West baseball season begins Friday, Feb. 14, with all eight teams in action.
