COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State’s Mia Jacobs has been tabbed the Mountain West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while San Diego State’s Nat Martinez garnered the MW Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Week nod.
This is the second MW weekly honor for Jacobs and the third for Martinez this season.

- Led the Bulldogs to a 2-0 week with wins over San José State (77-64) and Boise State (68-62), while logging back-to-back double-doubles.
- Averaged 31 points, 10 rebounds, 2.5 steals, 1.5 blocks and one assist per game, while shooting 56.3 percent from the field, 38.5 percent from three-point range and 87.5 percent from the free-throw line.
- At San José State, notched a career-high 32 points, 10 rebounds, two steals, one block and one assist.
- Against the Broncos, registered 30 points, 10 rebounds, three steals, two blocks and one assist.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
NAT MARTINEZ, SAN DIEGO STATE
Guard, San Leandro, California/Piedmont HS
- Helped the Aztecs to a 1-1 week on the road with a win over Nevada (81-62) and a loss to Wyoming (78-71).
- Averaged 13 points, two steals, and one assist per game, while shooting 81.8 percent from the floor and 88.9 percent from the charity stripe.
- At Nevada, logged 11 points, two steals and one rebound. Shot 80 percent from the floor and was perfect from the free-throw line.
- At Wyoming, tallied 15 points, two assists and two steals. Made 5-of-6 attempts from the field and was 5-for-6 from the charity stripe.
