COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Utah State senior Kaylie Ray has been named the Mountain West Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, while fellow Aggie Kaylie Kofe collected the MW Freshman of the Week nod. New Mexico’s Liepa Lavickyte was tabbed the MW Defensive Player of the Week.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
KAYLIE RAY, UTAH STATE
Junior, Outside, Chandler, Arizona/Chandler HS
- Guided the Aggies to a 2-0 week at home with wins over UNLV (3-2) and San Diego State (3-1). Utah State’s win over UNLV, clinched USU’s berth to the MW Volleyball Championship at the end of November.
- Averaged 3.78 kills per set with a .324 hitting efficiency across nine sets last week.
- Against the Rebels, logged a career-high 20 kills and a .395 hitting percentage.
- Against the Aztecs, tallied another 14 kills for the Aggies.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
LIEPA LAVICKYTE, NEW MEXICO
Sophomore, Middle Blocker, Sandnes, Norway/Oregon State
- Helped the Lobos to a 2-0 week with a pair of four-set wins over Air Force and Boise State.
- Averaged 1.88 blocks per set, securing 15 total blocks, one solo and 14 block assists.
- Against the Falcons, notched eight blocks.
- Against the Broncos, collected seven block assists.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
KAYLIE KOFE, UTAH STATE
Setter, Idaho Falls, Idaho/Bonneville HS
- Assisted the Aggies to a 2-0 week to secure their spot in the MW Volleyball Championship.
- Averaged 11.11 assists per set, totaled 100 assists across nine sets of action, 2.33 digs per set and recorded double-doubles in both matches.
- Against UNLV, logged 57 assists, 11 digs, two kills, two service aces and one block
- Against San Diego State, collected 43 assists, 10 digs, two kills, one service ace and one block.
